September 2023

On September 30th, 2023, T.E.A.L.® organized the 10th Annual Savannah T.E.A.L.® Walk™ to honor those impacted by ovarian cancer and spread awareness regarding the disease. For the past 10 years T.E.A.L.® has organized a walk in Savannah, Georgia to celebrate the courage of ovarian cancer survivors and the strength of the families who have been touched by the disease, raise awareness to the public, and to raise money for research. This year’s walk was especially important not only because it was T.E.A.L.® ‘s 10-year anniversary in Savannah, but because it marked the first walk T.E.A.L.® held in person since 2019 due to the pandemic. We are deeply grateful to those who supported this year’s walk, such as Girl Scout Troop 30284, Delta Omega Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc, Grande Cosmetics, Feminade, Walgreens, Staybridge Suites Hotel, Preferred Pharmacy, Binya, and Dick’s Broadcasting without whom this event could not have been as successful as it was. T.E.A.L.® would also like to thank Rachel Davis, Victoria Jones, Mollie Andrade, and Dr. Stephen McCall who helped plan, organize, and put on this event. In 2023, Victoria Jones, Chaplain and Philanthropy Committee Chairman of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc. Delta Omega, organized a coin war between the Class of 2025 and the Class of 2026. In order to earn points each class had to add pennies and dollar bills to a jar.

To defeat the opposing class, they added quarters, nickels, and dimes. For the losing class, the class advisor had to wear a squirrel costume. The picture above is Class of 2025 class advisor, Dr. Mackenzie Meier, along with some of the Kappa Psi brothers. The fundraiser raised over $275.

On September 8th, 2023, Victoria Jones, a student at South University, was interviewed by WSAV. Ms. Jones advertised and spoke about the upcoming 10th Annual Savannah T.E.A.L.® Walk™, to be held in Savannah, GA on September 30th, 2023. It was a great opportunity to inform the community of Savannah about the upcoming walk, while also generally raising awareness about ovarian cancer and the services which T.E.A.L.® offers to those touched by the disease.
