Flora Poleshchuk is a board certified genetic counselor specializing in cancer genetics. Flora used to practice embryology in an IVF center where she cryopreserved eggs and embryos for women and couples battling cancer. This experience inspired Flora to become a genetic counselor and stimulated her ongoing interest in cancer genetics. After completing her genetic counseling Master’s degree in 2011, from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, she practiced clinical genetic counseling at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she was introduced to and partnered with T.E.A.L.®. Since 2014 Flora has been with Myriad Genetics Laboratories as a Regional Medical Specialist in the New York City area, providing ongoing cancer genetics education and support to healthcare providers in our area. Flora is currently serving as Co-chair of the Cancer Special Interest Group for the National Society of Genetic Counselors, the largest subspecialty group in the genetic counseling profession.
