PS 164 in Brooklyn, NY hosted a bake sale at their school on October 12th with the proceeds being donated to T.E.A.L.®. Parent Coordinator, Solange, urged the school sell as many teal colored treats as they can – and they did! This bake sale sold over 360 cupcakes raising $885! On October 13th, 2018, the T.E.A.L.® Community Center hosted a free Wellness Weekend, which included no-cost mammograms and genetic testing information. Over 20 members of the community attended the workshop, including a visit from News 12 Brooklyn! T.E.A.L.® thanks Research for Life® American Italian Cancer Foundation and Myriad Genetics for their generous contributions to the Wellness Weekend – we hope to have several more programs like this in the future. On October 4th T.E.A.L.® had the privilege of attending Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Gynecologic Surgery & Ovarian Cancer Management Conference. This was amazing conference where we were able to learn about all the latest things involving ovarian cancer. We were especially excited to hear about the new findings and methods of treating ovarian cancer. Conferences such as these give us a sense of empowerment and hope that we are one step closer to seeing an end to ovarian cancer! Tell Every Amazing Lady® was featured at the Harvard Global Women’s Empowerment 3rd Annual Expo on September 29, 2018 in Boston. T.E.A.L.® spoke with Harvard students and alumni about ovarian cancer and in an awareness campaign to educate the Harvard community. Showcased among other exceptional Global Women’s programs, T.E.A.L.® advised women to listen to their bodies and provided educational materials. The Foundation for Women’s Cancer offered a free full-day Ovarian Cancer Education Course for survivors, friends, and families in Manhattan, NY on September 29th, 2018. Tell Every Amazing Lady® sponsored this program which included distributing resources and information to participants at the event. The FWC’s Survivor Course enabled T.E.A.L.® to continue its efforts to support survivors of ovarian cancer along with their caretakers, loved ones, and anyone else affected by ovarian cancer. The survivor course included panels, discussions between survivors, and talks led by doctors throughout the day, as participants went over everything from clinical trials and immunotherapy to mindfulness. T.E.A.L.® is very excited to have been a part of this wonderful program for survivors.
On September 28th, City Hall was lit the color teal in honor of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month! This was the third year City Hall has been lit teal helping us raise even more awareness about ovarian cancer! We want to thank City Hall for joining our campaign and for the continued support.

Tell Every Amazing Lady® had the honor of having Wonder Woman in TEAL at our 5th Annual Savannah T.E.A.L.® Walk on September 22, 2018! Faith dressed up as Wonder Woman to honor her mom, Camille Rogers, a professor at Southern Georgia University and an ovarian cancer survivor. As Wonder Woman, Faith was able to distribute over 500 ovarian cancer awareness cards to community members to raise awareness during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The Lady Titans Softball team from Lake Oconee Academy in Georgia, hosted a teal Out game on Tuesday, September 18th. Students and teachers were asked to wear a shirt designed for the game at school on Tuesday and to the game that evening. T.E.A.L.® supporter, Lea, was presented a check for $700 at the start of the varsity game. In addition to wearing teal jerseys and selling the t-shirts, the team also painted teal ribbons on the field and used teal bases. This was an amazing and fun way to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer!
Claudia Poccia, best known for her work in the luxury cosmetics and skincare industry, published an article in honor of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, urging the public to take action in the fight against ovarian cancer. Claudia actively gives back to the cancer community, helping women going through the struggles of cancer look, and feel, beautiful. In the article, Claudia explains how she was affected by ovarian cancer when her sister was diagnosed and gives a shout out to T.E.A.L.® recognizing the work that we do. Along with the national organization Turn the Towns Teal®, Tell Every Amazing Lady® promoted awareness about ovarian cancer in Brooklyn on August 20th, 2018, and September 14th, 2018. On these dates, T.E.A.L.® held a ribbon tying campaign in Brooklyn on 5th Avenue, North Flatbush Avenue, and Myrtle Avenue. T.E.A.L.® supporters, with the help of the local Business Improvement Districts and volunteers, tied teal ribbons around trees in honor of September being ovarian cancer awareness month. On September 8th, 2018, T.E.A.L.® hosted the 10th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run for ovarian cancer. Thanks to the many participants and volunteers at the 10th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run, T.E.A.L.® celebrated a decade of raising awareness, supporting survivors, and funding ovarian cancer research. The walk took place at the Bandshell at Prospect Park and hasn’t reached its goal yet of $250,000! To donate go to www.TealWalk.org/Brooklyn. All the profits raised at the 10th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run will go to supporting T.E.A.L.® mission of awareness, support, and medical research.
The event included a non-competitive run, walk, a survivor ceremony, and several booths and stations for ovarian cancer awareness and support. During September, which is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month T.E.A.L.® Walks could be seen in various cities of the USA throughout the month. Thank you to all the walkers, runners, and volunteers who made this year’s events possible, and thank you to everyone who has helped T.E.A.L.® continue its mission in the past 10 years!

It was an amazing experience from the audition process to seeing the models on the runway. I want to thank my friends and family that came to support me and the amazing models that did an amazing job.”
Josephine Corcoran, an ovarian cancer survivor, walked with T.E.A.L.® and her team, Team Jo, at the 10th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run for ovarian cancer. After several months of chemotherapy and surgery, Jo found out that her cancer had returned, but nonetheless she walked in Brooklyn for ovarian cancer! Jo and 21 of her friends and family made it to the walk on September 8th, 2018. On Saturday, September 1st, T.E.A.L.® kicked off National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month with the lighting of Luna Park’s Parachute Jump in Coney Island the color teal for the 4th year in a row! In addition to this, T.E.A.L.® partnered with the Brooklyn Cyclones whom allowed our CEO, Pamela Esposito-Amery, to throw the first pitch, and later awarded her with a “Winning Woman” award. Brooklyn Borough Hall was lit teal from September 1st through September 8th to kick off National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. A press conference was held on the steps of Borough Hall on August 28th to announce the lighting and educate the public on ovarian cancer. Speakers at the press conference included Andrea Hertzberg from Share Cancer Support, Council Member Espinal, Dr. Wendy Wilcox – Obstetrician/Gynecologist at NYC Health + Hospitals Kings County, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, and our CEO & Co-Founder Pamela Esposito- Amery. T.E.A.L.® Volunteer, Mandy Irvin held a painting with a twist event in Charlotte, NC. Guests were able to enjoy a night of painting while raising money for T.E.A.L.®. The event raised $460! Thank you to Mandy and Painting with a Twist in Charlotte for organizing this event!
