SFC Health Fair

T.E.A.L.® attended the St. Francis College Health Fair in Brooklyn on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. It was a large fair with both students and faculty in attendance and a wide variety of vendors. T.E.A.L.® handed out flyers and brochures, providing more information about the work that Tell Every Amazing Lady® is doing and how to get involved, as well as disseminating information about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.

St Josephs Job Fair

T.E.A.L.® attended a job and internship fair at St Josephs College in Brooklyn, NY on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. There were over 100 students and community members at the fair, and T.E.A.L.® provided more information about the work that Tell Every Amazing Lady® is doing and how to get involved through internships or volunteering.

 

T.E.A.L.® CEO is going to the Ellen Degeneres Show!

On April 9th, 2017, Tell Every Amazing Lady® CEO, Pamela Esposito-Amery found out that after nine years of persistence and not giving up, her dream would finally be coming true. She will be in the audience at the Ellen Degeneres Show! Pamela has entered every contest for the Ellen Degeneres Show and even created an EllenTube video for one of the contests. She entered the “Are You Ellen’s Biggest Fan in the Tri-State Area?” contest and finally won! She is being sent out on a plane with a group of other biggest fans to Los Angeles to be on the show. We are all extremely happy that Pamela is finally achieving her dream after all of her hard work at T.E.A.L.®.

NYU Health, Science & Nursing Industry Expo

T.E.A.L.® attended the NYU Health, Science & Nursing Industry Expo at New York University on Friday, April 7th, 2017. T.E.A.L.® handed out flyers and brochures, providing more information about the work that Tell Every Amazing Lady® is doing and how to get involved, as well as disseminating information about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.

Beyond Dance Fundraiser

From February 10th through the 12th, Push Beyond hosted their 2nd Annual Student Showcase at Beyond Dance Center in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. During the showcase, there were raffles, hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail hour. Any donations & all raffle proceeds were donated to Tell Every Amazing Lady®. Push Beyond was able to raise an amazing $2,500. CEO, Pamela Esposito-Amery attended and spoke about T.E.A.L.® spreading awareness to the dancers and audience. It was an inspiration to watch the showcase. Thank you to the amazing staff and owner Jennifer for choosing Tell Every Amazing Lady®!

NY Genetics Task Force Event at NYU Langone Medical Center

T.E.A.L.® was invited by the New York State Genetics Task Force to attend their quarterly meeting taking place at NYU in Manhattan on April 5th, 2017. T.E.A.L.® was introduced to New York City genetics professionals and gave a short powerpoint presentation about programs T.E.A.L.® has and what types of patients could benefit from T.E.A.L.®. Pamela Esposito-Amery, Melissa Belasoto, and board member Flora Poleschchuk of Myriad Genetics Laboratories also had a table where they displayed and distributed awareness cards, information about our walk, and spoke to attendees about T.E.A.L.®’s work in the community.

St Josephs College “Common Hour”

T.E.A.L.® CEO and co-founder Pamela Esposito-Amery and Programs Associate Melissa Belasoto gave a presentation focused on ovarian cancer awareness to a group of over 50 students on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017. The students included nursing, leadership, and recreation majors. T.E.A.L.® also had a table where they were able to hand out information about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of ovarian cancer, and was able to give a lecture during the school’s “common hour” which provided life-saving information to faculty and students about the risk factors of ovarian cancer and what to watch out for.

Prospect Park Opening Day Fair

On April 1st, 2017 T.E.A.L.®  participated in Prospect Park Alliance’s 1st annual Opening Weekend Fair as a part of the 150th anniversary celebrations in Prospect Park. The event included a wide variety of vendors, and during the fair, T.E.A.L.® staff and volunteers were able to share information about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. T.E.A.L.® also provided information about ways to get involved with T.E.A.L.® to over 100 attendees throughout the course of the afternoon.

Thirty-One Fundraiser

T.E.A.L.®’s Whitesboro Walk will be hosting a great event in Whitesboro, NY in partnership with Thirty One www.mythirtyone.com/6126 , and 100% of proceeds will go towards the Whitesboro T.E.A.L.® Walk. Salem Women’s Health Panel in Harlem

On March 29th, 2017, T.E.A.L.® participated in Salem Community Center’s Women’s Health Panel. The panel covered topics ranging from sexual harassment to reproductive health, to women’s wellness and careers in health. T.E.A.L.® CEO Pamela Esposito-Amery spoke about T.E.A.L.®’s organization and mission and her career path as a professional in the health sector. Over 50 students and faculty attended, learning more about the work done by Salem Community Center as well as the work done by Planned Parenthood’s Street Beat, Iris House, Safe Horizon, and Tell Every Amazing Lady®.

St Francis College Career Fair

On Wednesday, March 29th, 2017, T.E.A.L.® participated in a career fair at St. Francis College. During the fair, T.E.A.L.® staff and volunteers were able to share information about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of ovarian cancer. T.E.A.L.® was also able to  provide information about the new T.E.A.L.® Youth Ambassador Program and other ways for young students to get involved with the work being done by Tell Every Amazing Lady® through internships, event assistance, or general volunteer assistance.

Queens Health and Wellness Conference

T.E.A.L.® attended a Health and Wellness Conference in Jamaica, Queens on Saturday March 25th, 2017. In partnership with PS 48 and Public Advocate Letitia James, T.E.A.L.® CEO Pamela Esposito-Amery presented during the opening ceremony in front of 200 community members and health advocates. Post opening ceremony, there were interactive workshops focusing on nutrition, women’s health and more. During the workshops T.E.A.L.®  tabled, providing more information for parents and students about the work that Tell Every Amazing Lady® is doing throughout the 5 boroughs and how to get involved.

 

South Carolina Guest Bartending Event

T.E.A.L.®’s amazing volunteer, Samantha Radandt along with B&R Events is hosting yet another amazing event at Vine in South Carolina. The event will take place on April 7th, 2017. Special guests Lauren Taylor, Maggie Maher, Tracy Ryan, Alexandra Gonzalez and Vanessa de la Viña and Ashley Minelli will be behind the bar helping to supporting this cause. During the event, there will be a raffle, happy hour, and specials all while helping raise funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness. All of the proceeds will be donated to T.E.A.L.®.

Sorority Kappa Psi-Delta Omega Fraternity at the South University School of Pharmacy is having an online Yankee Candle Fundraiser to help raise money for the 4th Annual T.E.A.L.® Walk in Savannah, Georgia. Refresh Your Rituals Fundraiser

On Thursday, March 23rd, 2017, JLew is partnering with Red Flower for a “Refresh Your Rituals” event. The event will take place at Red Flower located at 13 Prince Street, NY 10012. During the event, there will be a reiki and meditation session followed by a discussion about everyday rituals. Kingsborough Health Panel

On Monday, March 20th, 2017, in partnership with the Kingsborough Community Health Club, T.E.A.L.®  attended the Kingsborough Community College’s (KCC) Women’s Health Panel, titled “Celebrating Women’s Health, 21st Century Style”. T.E.A.L.® . CEO Pamela Esposito-Amery presented and spoke with club members and the greater KCC community about ovarian cancer signs, symptoms, and risk factors, and how she initially got involved with ovarian cancer awareness outreach. T.E.A.L.® closed by providing information about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities for students, as well as discussing the challenges facing women’s health throughout 2017 and beyond.

The New T.E.A.L.® Youth Ambassador Program

T.E.A.L.® has officially launched the new T.E.A.L.® Youth Ambassador Program! Do you know an amazing student currently enrolled full time ? Our T.E.A.L.® staff will guide, mentor and develop training for ambassadors to implement as they engage and educate diverse audiences about this important women’s health issue. 3rd Annual Symposium

On Saturday, February 25th, 2017, Tell Every Amazing Lady® visited the Church of God of Prophecy for the 3rd Annual Symposium in Brooklyn, New York. Founder/CEO Pamela was invited to be one of several guest lecturers including representatives from NYU Langone. During her presentation, she was able to spread awareness about the risk and symptoms of ovarian cancer to over 45 people.

Vermillion FDA Update

This is an FDA update from Vermillion/Aspira Labs. Recently, Vermillion has issued a letter explaining the FDA Safety Warning about recommending against using screening tests for ovarian cancer. In the letter, Vermillion discusses how OVA1, CA125 and ROMA should be used in determining appropriate screening tests for ovarian cancer and their technology in general.

Bubbly Bites

B&R Events hosted yet another amazing event, Bubbly Bites at Chef 360’a Studio Kitchen in South Carolina. The event took place on February 21st, 2017. During the event, guests were able to try delicious appetizers and sample different wines while helping raise funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness. They were able to raise an amazing $410! Huge thank you to Samantha and the entire B&R Events group for all of their support.

Lions Clubs International District 20-K1 Mid Winter Convention

On February 18, 2017, Lion Pamela Esposito-Amery (CEO of T.E.A.L.®) and Lion Lawrence Esposito (T.E.A.L.® Advisory Board Member) and Lion John Cucarese (Board Secretary of T.E.A.L.®) spread awareness and educational information about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of Ovarian Cancer to over 200 individuals at the Lions Clubs International District 20-K1 Mid Winter Convention in Queens, NY

Tannenbaum Helpern’s Women’s Initiative

On February 16, 2017, Tell Every Amazing Lady® attended the Tannenbaum Helpern’s Women’s Initiative Event at the Roger Smith Hotel in NYC. During this event, T.E.A.L.® was able to spread awareness while “indulging” in products from featured women-owned businesses. It was a pleasure being able to connect with women from all over New York. A huge thank you to Tannenbaum Helpern’s for inviting us to this inspiring event!

T.E.A.L.® Visits the Office of Adult and Continuing Education

On February 15, 2017, T.E.A.L.® attended the Adult Education Health Fair in Manhattan. During the health fair, T.E.A.L.® had an awareness table and used the opportunity to spread information to 100 including students and members of the local community about Ovarian Cancer signs, symptoms, and risk factors in addition to T.E.A.L.®’s upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

Cancer Prevention Month

For the month of February, T.E.A.L.® is partnering with American Institute for Cancer Research for National Cancer Prevention Month. The goal of this campaign is to show Americans how they and their families can lower their cancer risk. AICR estimates that almost one-third of the most common cancers in the U.S. could be prevented if Americans moved more, weighed less and ate more healthy. Runner Meetup for Team T.E.A.L.®!

T.E.A.L.® is so excited to be a part of the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on March 18th, 2018! In anticipation of the race, the T.E.A.L.® United ½ runners met up at the T.E.A.L.® Community Center on January 28th, where they were able to get to know each other and bond as a team, as well as speaking with T.E.A.L.® staff about fundraising and why they chose T.E.A.L.® specifically. T.E.A.L.® at Corey Johnson’s Inauguration as Speaker of NY City Council

T.E.A.L.® was invited to New York City Council Member Corey Johnson’s Inauguration as Speaker of the City Council on January 28, 2018 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Chelsea. It was an honor to be part of this amazing event and to listen to Corey Johnson speak about tackling the issues that the people of New York City face in Manhattan and throughout all five boroughs.

 

T.E.A.L. ® at Walter Mosley 4th Annual Youth Job Fair and Expo

On Friday, January 26th T.E.A.L. ® participated in Walter Mosley’s 4th Annual Youth Job Fair and Expo. Over 250 people received awareness information including youth ranging from 14-24 years old. Special thanks to Assemblyman Walter T. Mosley of the 57th Assembly District for hosting the event and inviting T.E.A.L. ® to participate.

T.E.A.L.® at Harry Connick Jr’s Show HARRY

Thank you so much to Harry Connick Jr and his crew for having us for a taping of HARRY on January 23rd, 2018. A group of T.E.A.L.® survivors, staff, and volunteers were able to join the audience for the live taping. Program Associate Melissa Belasoto was featured in the “Food Fight” segment, and survivor Michele was able to ask a question about ovarian cancer and connect with Harry backstage after the show! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for T.E.A.L.®  in the audience when it airs on February 26th.

T.E.A.L.® Crochet Workshop

On January 17th, 2017, T.E.A.L.® hosted a Learn to Crochet Workshop with moderator Kaiwen Ye. During the workshop survivors, caregivers, and the general public were able to learn introductory stitches and fundamentals through group practice and discussion. Interested in attending a workshop? Exploring Meditation Workshop

On January 17th, 2017, T.E.A.L.® hosted a Exploring Meditation Workshop with moderator Enrique Bejarano. During the workshop survivors and caregivers were able to learn meditation concepts and fundamentals through interactive group practice and discussion. Topics included some brief historical context about why individuals choose to meditate, as well as correct posture, breath, visualization and stillness. Interested in attending a similar workshop? New Year’s Eve 2017 Southern Gala

T.E.A.L.®’s amazing volunteer, Samantha Radandt along with B&R Events hosted a New Year’s Eve 2017 Southern Gala in Greenville, South Carolina to help ring in the New Year while supporting T.E.A.L.®’s cause. There was food, dancing and cocktails. They were able to raise a grand total of $3,450. Thank you Samantha and B&R Events for your continued support!

 

Dept of NYC Sanitation Fundraiser

For the month of December, one of our Men of T.E.A.L.® Phillip Ruello, with the help of the Department of NYC Sanitation employees, held a T.E.A.L.® Walk/Window campaign to raise funds to support T.E.A.L.® programs. They raised an amazing total of $843. It could not have been done without garages M1260, M1130, M4A-145, and M12-418. Thank you Philip and the Department of NYC Sanitation for supporting our mission!

BALC Presentation

On December 21,2016, Tell Every Amazing Lady® presented a lecture to a class of students at the Brooklyn Adult Learning Center, also known as BALC. T.E.A.L.® was able to teach students about the signs, symptoms and risks of ovarian cancer and spread awareness about this deadly disease while answering questions that the students had.

New Years Eve 2017 Southern Gala

T.E.A.L.®’s amazing volunteer, Samantha Radandt along with B&R Events is hosting a New Year’s Eve 2017 Southern Gala in South Carolina to help ring in the New Year while supporting our cause.
